The construction story behind PROFLEX Commercial Storage Solutions — from the first site work to a finished commercial property built for small business.
PROFLEX Commercial Storage Solutions was built from the ground up in Akron, Ohio, with the help of a variety of local subcontractors and skilled trades throughout the project.
From site preparation and concrete to framing, utilities, interior work and final paving, each stage came together to create modern, practical commercial flex space designed around contractors, small businesses, equipment, inventory and clean workshop uses.
The project progressed from raw site work to a purpose-built commercial property on E Waterloo Road. Real construction photos show the work behind the finished PROFLEX building.

Excavation, grading and base work established the footprint and circulation area for the new commercial property.

The 168-foot building footprint took shape as the eight bay modules, high-clearance openings and structural framing were established.

Local trades and crane crews set the roof structure across the long commercial building.

Concrete floors and interior work transformed the enclosed shell into durable, usable commercial bays.

Aprons, utilities and site improvements were completed with maneuverability for trucks, trailers and equipment in mind.

Insulated overhead doors, exterior lighting and final building details brought the property to its finished form.
PROFLEX was designed with attention to the details that may not be the first things you notice, but can make a major difference to a small business using the space every day.
Each standard bay was planned for practical commercial use with included Wi-Fi, a private utility sink, interior hose spigot, ceiling fans, individual gas heat and pre-wiring for future air conditioning. Electrical needs were considered from the beginning, with six dedicated 120V outlets strategically positioned throughout each unit plus a dedicated 30-amp 220V outlet.
The building provides 16-foot clear ceilings and oversized 13′ × 14′ insulated overhead doors, giving tenants room for larger vehicles, equipment, deliveries and inventory.
Outside the bays, the property includes a 14-camera exterior security system with 24/7 recording, a shared on-site dumpster and a purpose-designed asphalt lot laid out to provide parking while maintaining maneuvering room for trucks, trailers and equipment.
Even the shared restroom was intentional. Rather than consuming valuable floor space by placing a restroom inside every bay, a centrally shared facility allows tenants to retain more of their unit’s square footage for their actual business.
Individually, these may seem like small details. Together, they represent what PROFLEX was intended to be from the beginning: commercial space designed around how small businesses actually work.
